More Air Service To Be Added

2012 is indeed off to a good start at Columbia Metropolitan Airport (CAE) with the announcements by two of our airlines for additional nonstop service.

Delta Air Lines has announced they will add a second nonstop flight from CAE to New York/LaGuardia (LGA) beginning July 11. These flights into LGA provide excellent access into the downtown New York area as well as offer great connections into the New England area and into Canadian markets such as Montreal and Toronto.

2nd LGA flight to begin July 11

Departs LGA at 2:45 pm; Arrives CAE at 5:00 pm

Departs CAE at 5:30 pm; Arrives LGA at 7:31 pm

Current LGA flight which will remain

Departs LGA at 9:15 pm; Arrives CAE at 11:27 pm

Departs CAE at 7:55 am; Arrives LGA at 9:53 am

More great news…United Airlines has announced they will begin nonstop service from CAE to Newark, NJ (EWR) beginning September 6 with departures on Mondays and Thursdays.

EWR flights to begin September 6

(Sundays) Departs EWR at 6:30 pm; Arrives CAE at 8:25 pm

(Mondays) Departs CAE at 6:20 am; Arrives EWR at 8:20 am

(Thursdays) Departs EWR at 6:00 pm; Arrives CAE at 7:58 pm

(Thursdays) Departs CAE at 8:23 pm; Arrives EWR at 10:28 pm

The Monday morning departure will provide excellent international connections to a variety of European and Asian markets such as London, Tokyo, Beijing, and Shanghai. Depart CAE on Monday mornings at 6:20 am to EWR and be in London that evening at 9:20 pm! The new service will also provide connections to a variety of domestic markets as well.

“This new service will now provide us with nonstop flights from CAE to 11 major markets across the country. We are pleased with the support of our airline partners, Delta; United; American; and US Airways, in providing us with excellent access to  domestic and international destinations that are often just one stop away,” said Dan Mann, CAE’s Executive Director. He added, “And, we are particularly pleased to report that our passenger enplanements or boardings have shown increases for the last 7 consecutive months.”
